Our Customers and Business
Trade Mark-Down offers trade solutions – a way of doing business that satisfies both the manufacturers/suppliers as well as the end-users/buyers. Trade solutions entail marketing a product or supplier to the relevant party or taking on a trade project from concept to completion. We provide trade solutions to 3 major industries: (1) Oil and Gas Industry (2) Pakistan Armed Forces (3) Telecom Industry.
- Oil and Gas Sector Overview
Recently, Pakistan has created new incentives and opportunities for exploration and mining efforts throughout the region. Furthermore, due to its strategic location and the launch of Gwadar Port in Balochistan, an increasingly heavy influence is being placed to meet Pakistan’s exponential energy demands. In fact in 2006, 30 new exploration licenses have been issued to meet the exponential demand for Pakistan’s energy needs. In addition, pipeline projects amounting to several billion dollars are being worked out in conjunction with Iran, India, Qatar and Turkmenistan. At TMD, we strive to coordinate trade solutions through facilitating transactions between service-providers, manufacturers, suppliers and end-users. In essence, we perform a procurement function with fully trained after-sales support and a quality-conscious formula reliant on ISO-9000 standards for well established O&G firms. Furthermore, we also offer consultancy and trade services in coordinating provisions and systems of drilling and well services as well as repair, shipping and transportation.
Most people are unaware that Pakistan Armed Forces are a huge buying market for an assortment of products and services. In fact, each year the largest portions of the national budget is allocated to ensure that Pakistan’s Armed Forces maintains its highly competitive standards as a top-10 line of defense in the world. For the last fiscal year (2005-2006), the budget for military spending was announced to be $18.16 billion – approximately 40% of the national budget. TMD’s trade solutions to this market vary from specialized machinery to everyday items such as water, food and clothing. We offer these trade solutions by procuring and marketing carefully chosen items from our panel to the Army, Navy, Air-Force and other relevant government organizations.
- Telecommunications Industry
Pakistan has experienced a telecom boom in the past years, now accounting for more than 35% of its foreign direct investment. With 6 giant players in the market investing more than $4 billion since 2005, and hundreds of small operators in LDI and WLL services, the Pakistani telecom industry is a rapidly maturing industry that is far from saturated. Today, mobile tele-density is only lying at 35% and operators and service providers have vowed to make this number close to 80% in the coming years. Needless to say, TMD has identified the telecom industry as a huge niche market for its trade solution services by placing like-minded telecom service providers and manufacturers on its elite trade portfolio.
